Ephesians 3:19  “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Employing the phrase “unto him” twice (Ephesians 3:19-20), Paul declares the Sovereign Power of God and exhorts us to Worshipfully Praise and Serve our Lord.  Our Lord God is “him that is able”; that is, He has the Omnipotence, Omniscience, and Omnipresence “to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think”.  In our human bodies, we are limited in our ability to “ask” in prayer and in our ability to “think”; but, our God is in no way limited.  Except for what our God has prophesied of, we cannot know the future for certain, but our God does.  Thus, we are often limited in our ability to know exactly what to pray for; but, “the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (Romans 8:26).  This is why we should faithfully include the overriding petition in our prayers that “Thy will be done” (Luke 11:2); in doing so, we are worshipfully acknowledging our human limits, but that our God is in no way limited and we are declaring our submission to His “will”.  It is good that we pray, even with our limited understanding, and it is also good that we rest upon our God-given “faith” and happily accept the “will” and authority of our God.  In my severely limited abilities, I can see one thing for certain, we are learning a great lesson, we are seeing firsthand what happens “When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity” (Ezekiel 3:20) and when people “reject the commandment of God” and “keep” their “own tradition” (Mark 7:9); we are learning the meaning of “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalms 9:17) and “Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” (Psalms 50:22)!  So, let us keep praying that our Lord will defeat this Coronavirus and the confusions that come with it and pray that He will calm the chaos in our streets and pray that He will cease the wickedness and immoralities that seem to permeate our Country and pray that He will prosper His Church and people as we strive to “worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24); then, conclude with “Thy will be done”!
