2020-08-24 “church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages”

Ephesians 3:21  “Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

throughout all ages”, until the last age in which the last Child of God is conceived, there is a “world without end”.  Nations come and go, powerful leaders come and go, organizations come and go, industry comes and goes; but, the Church-Kingdom of “Christ Jesus” is the “world without end”!  Daniel illustrates the “world without end” this way, “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.” (Daniel 2:44).  In speaking of His “church”, His “kingdom”, His “world without end”, our Lord declared, “upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18); the “rock” is the powerful truth that Peter had just spoken, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16).  Recently, my doctor referred to me as “one of his seniors”, that sort of startled me; I had never thought of myself as a senior, one of those folks that is “over the hill”, no longer young and vibrant, needing specialized care reserved for the antique; but, the truth is, we all come and go, but “the Church” of “Christ Jesus” continues “throughout all ages” in His “world without end”.  Our Lord’s Church-Kingdom is indeed the “world without end”, for it will never end, never be destroyed, never get old, never fade away, and will never be taken over by others.  Even on the last day, when this natural “world” is “burned up” (II Peter 3:1-12), before it is “burned”, our Eternal King will take His “world without end” to that eternal paradisal place that He has prepared for it.  This blessed truth should greatly encourage us during our present troubled times, for even such “ages” like the age of our present troubles come and go; but, by our Lord’s sweet grace and mercy, we have part in His blessed “world without end”.  Peace comes when we fix our minds upon the “world without end” and not the “world” that will be “burned up”!
