Psalms 94:23 “And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off.”
The wicked cyclically rise up in history, but they will not continue to do wicked things to the Children of God indefinitely; for, at a time and in a manner pleasing to Him, “the LORD our God shall cut them off”! They may mock and demean our Faith, but the Word of God is forever true, and the Lord has authoritatively declared, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord” (Romans 12:19)! The wicked may “say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it” (Psalms 94:7), as if there is not really a God on scene having power and authority over all things and all peoples. But, there will come a moment in which they will learn that there is indeed a Sovereign God that Rules with an Almighty Hand. In nearly every generation, there appears wicked people who seek to do wicked things to those who are faithful to the Lord; they seem to think that they can go on and on in their wickedness with impunity. It is obviously true that “even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time” (I John 2:18) and there are “false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15). But, there will come a moment in which the Lord “shall bring upon them their own iniquity”; that is, He “shall” make them to suffer the same wickedness that they have inflicted upon the Children of God. And, He “shall cut them off in their own wickedness”; that is, our Lord “shall” use their own wicked deeds to “cut them off”; that is, stop them and their wicked deeds for a season. Knowing this to be true, “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” (Psalm 95:1)!
