Isaiah 24:10 “The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.”
“The city” was “The city of confusion” “because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant” (Isaiah 24:5). It is a grave mistake to declare that just because our Country is not a theocracy like the Old Testament Israel was, we are not “One Nation Under God” and that His Laws for moral behavior and integrity do not apply to us! We are plainly told that “The wicked shall be turned into hell (Death and Destruction), and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalms 9:17). At this very moment, we are seeing what happens when we exchange prayer for a “moment of silence”; when we try to remove God and godliness from our schools, from our government, from our social lives, from our sports, from our entertainment, from our healthcare, etc. We have large cities “of confusion” all across our Country. To be in “confusion” is to be devoid of godliness, worship, prayer, peace, joy, and safety. Each morning I sadly read the news; this morning an eight year old girl and a man just sitting in his car was killed by street violence and more homes and businesses were destroyed. Right now is the time for God fearing (Exodus 18:21) people to openly and plainly declare: “THIS IS ENOUGH”, “By the grace and mercy of our God, we are going to Church and we are going to pray, preach, teach, and live the Word of God in every place we go and in every situation we find ourselves in!” At the same time we need to be praying for strength to Stand Fast in the Word of God, praying for peace, and praying that the wicked hearts will be turned from their wickedness, and that the Children of God will behave as Children of God in all circumstances of life. This is the kind of leaders that we should seek out and vote for: “thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens” (Exodus 18:21). As the Lord told Israel, “If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.” (Jeremiah 4:1). Today, let all who love the Lord lay aside the ungodliness that has swept over our Country, and humbly and strongly “return” unto “the LORD”, to read and learn and obey His Word! A better man than me recently declared that “God and truth will get us out of this mess”!
