Psalm 95:1 “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”
Whether times are pleasant or unpleasant, easy or hard we are exhorted to “come, let us sing unto the LORD”! That is sing songs of worship, honor, and praise; for, our “LORD” is “the rock of our salvation”; both as we live now and for Eternal Life. He is the “Rock” that saved Israel from starvation in the wilderness and He is the “Rock” that “hath saved” (II Timothy 1:9) His “Elect” Children (I Peter 1:2) to Eternal Life (I Corinthians 10:4). While we humans are inherently frail, “the rock of our salvation” is “the LORD”, He “is a great God, and a great King above all gods” (Psalm 95:3)! Spiritual wisdom declares that our “Rock” is Sovereignly great and mighty, and “all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Daniel 4:35). Therefore, “come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker” (Psalm 95:6) for our “Rock”, our “God” “is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us” (Ephesians 2:4)!
