2020-11-05 “if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight”

Jeremiah 4:1  “If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

Well, Israel did not “put away” their “abominations out of” the LORD’s “sight” and they were removed from their homes, their nation, and for a while they were removed from the Lord’s protection.  They were utterly defeated and wasted and taken away captive by another nation.  In this context, “abominations” are things that are absolutely detestable to God.  These “abominations” include such things as idolatry, blasphemy, immorality, deceit, greed, and gross dishonesty; which includes murder of the unborn, sodomy, adultery, vain pride, false religious teachings, …  Because of these “abominations” God removed his protection from them, and they were ravaged, and they lost their freedom.  Our Lord has clearly defined these “abominations” in His Holy Bible.  Now is the time for all “born again” Children of God to humbly pray and obediently hear our Lord’s words, “If thou wilt return … if thou wilt put away thine abominations … then shalt thou not remove”!
