2020-11-20 “The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked”

Isaiah 14:5  “The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

What the Children of God cannot do for themselves, “The LORD” does on their behalf!  The mighty powers of the wicked in this world perpetually seek to put down and nullify the work and lives of faithful Children of God.  It is the same in every generation, and it is no different in our day.  Much like past generations, the “wicked” “rulers” have much more natural power and authority than the Lord’s faithful Flock.  But, both Biblical history and secular history makes it clear that God will only suffer so much of the “wicked” rulers’ wickedness.  Then, there comes a day in which “The LORD” bares His almighty “arm”, and the “wicked” melt away before Him like wax in a furnace; for, “The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.” (Isaiah 52:10).  When He moves against the wicked, there is no doubt that God did it!  When “The LORD” gets the victory; then, “The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.” (Isaiah 14:7)!  Let us daily pray that our Lord will appear upon this scenes of our times as the Mighty Warrior “that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah” “that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength”; for, it is He “that” shall “speak in righteousness, mighty to save” (Isaiah 63:1)!
