2021-02-19 We Need Some “good” And “pleasant”!

Psalms 133:1  “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is the “good” things that comforts us and encourages us and lifts our minds above our current distresses.  The opposite of “good” things are those things that discourage us, brings pain to our heart, and robs us of our peace.  The “pleasant” things are those things that fills our minds with joy and peace, brings a sense of calm upon us, and soothes our minds from the painful thoughts and feelings that often beset us.  The opposite of “pleasant” things are those painful things that we see around us and remember, things that thrust clouds of anxiety upon us, and things that causes severe depressions of the mind.  It is both “good” and “pleasant” “for brethren to dwell together in unity”!  Furthermore, it is both “good” and “pleasant” “to sing praises unto our God” (Psalms 147:1)!  Let us go to the House of God and worship together; let us sing and pray and fellowship and preach together.  It is in the House of God that we find real “good” and real “pleasant” things; things that wonderfully encourages and strengthens us in this world that is so often unfriendly and even hostile.  Let us flee for refuge to our Lord’s House; for, its storehouse is filled with “good” and “pleasant” things!
