Galatians 6:17 “From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.”
Paul preached and taught the truth of Jesus Christ our Lord; consequently, he was marked with wounds and scars by those who hate the Lord, hate His Church, hate His Gospel, and hate His people. He grotesquely suffered, all for the cause of Christ: “Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.” (II Corinthians 11:23-27)! We still have a large host of those who hate the blessed things of our Lord, and they still seek to abusively maim and mark the Children of God to discourage them and to end their worshipful service to the Lord. May the Lord bless us to follow Paul’s example and be “stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding” in the work of our Lord’s Doctrine and Practice and “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11) and “take up” our “cross daily” and obediently “follow” Him (Luke 9:23). And “let no man trouble” us with foolish questions and false accusations! May the Lord bless us with strength to “withstand” whatever is thrown at us and to “stand” and not give up any Gospel ground (Ephesians 6:13).
