Hebrews 6:20 “Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”
The place “Whither the forerunner is for us entered” is into Heaven itself. After the Lord had shown His Resurrected body to many, “while” His Disciples “beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight” (Acts 1:9). Our Lord Jesus “Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us” (Hebrews 9:24). Being in the very “presence of God for us”, He “is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). As our Intercessor, our Lord is “the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead” (Revelation 1:5). As “the faithful witness”, His presence in Heaven, seated beside the Father, is the Perfect “witness” that our sin-debt was finally and fully paid by His Sacrificial Death. He “is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him” (I Peter 3:22); thus, He even now reigns as “the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords” (I Timothy 6:15); that is, He is the Ultimate and Final Command Authority over all human powers and authorities “and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Daniel 4:35)! “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.” (Hebrews 4:14); that is, DO NOT compromise or neglect the Word of God, the Lord’s Church, the Lord’s people, or our faithful allegiance to Him!
