II Corinthians 4:8 “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;”
The devil and his wicked minions will not win; things may look and feel bleak, but ultimately our Lord gets the victory every time. It is true that we are presently “troubled”, “perplexed”, “Persecuted”, and “cast down”; but evil has its limits; for because our Sovereign, Eternal, Omnipotent God reigns in Heaven and Earth, we are “not distressed”, “not in despair”, “not forsaken”, and “not destroyed”! A dear old Brother, that is now with the Lord, once told me that life is like the weather; sometimes the storms rage, but tomorrow the sun comes out. So, it was when Tropical Storm Fred passed through us; but the next day there was a bright sun and blue skies. So, it will be the same with this awful virus that is plaguing us and the massive confusion in our government and the violence in our cities; one morning the “Sun of righteousness” “shall” “arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall” (Malachi 4:2). The Psalmist tells us, “O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory” (Psalms 98:1) – The Devil Don’t Win! We have good reason to anticipate a better day, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (II Corinthians 4:5)!
