Titus 1:3 “But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;”
Preachers are called and qualified by God to preach “his word”. With his Apostolic authority, Paul charges the Lord’s ministers to “preach the word” (II Timothy 4:2). This preached “word” is about “the Word of life” (I John 1:1), Jesus Christ our Lord. The core message of this preached “word” is that God the Father “hath chosen us in” Christ Jesus “before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love” (Ephesians 1:4); that our Lord rendered us “holy and without blame before him in love” by His Sacrificial Death; therefore, we rejoice in our “hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began” (Titus 1:2)! When this blessed “word” is preached, we hear such things as “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8), “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” (Romans 5:9), “this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39), “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us” (Ephesians 2:4), and one holy day we will hear our Lord’s Blessed Voice Command “Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34).
