I Chronicles 29:11 “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.”
When Israel was focused upon the Lord and not themselves, there was great peace and joy in the Land. Our Country is not a theocracy, but we are blessed and we do well when godly leaders make and execute laws according to the Word of God; that is, while we are “One Nation Under God”. In this case, Israel was focused upon building the Temple. King David was assembling materials and wealth for his son, Solomon, to build it (I Chronicles 29:1-9). Israel was focused upon this good work and the people generously gave of their wealth and costly materials to be used in the building; they had a godly purpose and they applied themselves to it. King David was not ashamed to bless “the LORD before all the congregation” (I Chronicles 29:10). Oh, that David’s blessed words would be worshipfully declared in the halls of Congress, in the Judiciary, in the White House, and by all government leaders: “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.” (I Chronicles 29:11-13). Thank God for our form of government; for, if our leaders don’t glorify our God, we can seek out and choose leaders who will. Now is the time for the Children of God to declare their faith by going to Church, showing their faith by their works (James 2:18), and not compromising their faith for carnal joys and advancements. John said it this way, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” (I John 5:4)!
