II Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
While many of the Jews were still behind the “vail” of the Law Service, the Christian Church was gloriously unveiled to behold the “glory of the Lord” and to rejoice that He “hath also glorified” them (Romans 8:30). Though we truly see ourselves as entirely unworthy by nature, we rejoice to know and see that the Lord has graciously imparted His “glory” to us, rendering us just, righteous, and holy; thus, fit for Eternal Heaven and the happy beneficiaries of His grace and mercy while we remain in this present life. To behold this blessed “glory” is to stand in joyous awe of God, amazed that He would so surely elevate us to such magnificent “glory”. In those blessed times in which “the Spirit of the Lord” moves among us, allowing us to see this amazing “glory”, we “rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (I Peter 1:8) knowing that “For by grace are” we “saved through faith; and that not of” ourselves “it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8)!
