Proverbs 4:19 “The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.”
“The way of the wicked is as darkness”; that is, “the wicked” follow paths of ignorance; they are ignorant of God’s righteousness, His truth, His morality, His integrity, His love, His kindness, and His Word; thus, they will eventually “stumble” – fall into ruin. In contrast to “the wicked”, the Children of God strive to follow the Lord’s paths of truth, morality, integrity, love, kindness, and worship according to the Word of God. Even in our day, “the wicked” seek to destroy and remove true Christianity, then they try to legislate and impose their own moral codes for living and business, which never works because “the wicked” just become more and more “wicked” until society is totally corrupted and laid out in ruin. The result is, absolutely miserable lives and “The wicked shall be turned into hell [destroyed], and all the nations that forget God.” (Psalms 9:17). In truth, “the wicked” are also blessed when a Country is founded upon and follows our Lord’s Christian Commandments for morality and integrity. So, the challenge before us is to “be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (I Corinthians 15:58); for, “The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.” (Proverbs 12:7).
