John 12:19 “The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.”
The “Pharisees” were watching their vain world crumble around them, and they felt powerless to stop it. This man from a no-count city named Nazareth was doing strange things and all their people were leaving them to follow Him. He didn’t look like a king, but they received Him like a conquering King. Furthermore, they worshiped Him like a God. In truth, our Lord was revealing that their religious leadership was simply a façade’ to hide their lust for glory, power, and wealth. Even in our day, at the present, it seems that wicked men, “false prophets” (Matthew 7:15), “false Christs” (Mark 13:22), “false brethren” (II Corinthians 11:26), and “many antichrists” (I John 2:18) are ruling the day. But, as in every generation, there will come a day in which our King, our High Priest, our Good Shepherd will make “bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God” (Isaiah 52:10)! In the meantime, let us faithfully, “put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:24) and “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11); for the same King and Savior Who Victoriously rode into Jerusalem on an ass’s colt, REIGNS SUPREME TODAY!
