II Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
When we have such tragedies as our nation experienced yesterday, tragedies that just keep happening over and over again – deranged minds indiscriminately killing people; one would think that an intelligent mind would soon learn that ‘a moment of silence’ is not helping a thing. A moment of silence is like an empty purse, a dry well, a dead battery, a book without pages – it is worthless, a disgrace, and a waste of time. But, consider the difference it would make if the Children of God among the leadership of this Nation would come together and have the courage to say to the Nation, we are in a strait, “Let Us Pray”! And then, all kneel down and “humble themselves” with an attitude of repentance and begin to cry aloud and “pray” to the Sovereign Almighty God. And, as they are praying, sincerely “seek” His Holy “face” for wisdom, leadership, and strength; and earnestly commit to lead this Nation in paths of godly goodness and “turn from” our “wicked ways”. I know of certainty what would happen, for we have a promise from the “God, that cannot lie” (Titus 1:2). And this is His sure promise, “then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”! But, it begins with you and me – so “Let Us Pray”!
