Romans 1:16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
It makes no difference who believes what or doesn’t believe what in my presence, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”! I’m “not ashamed” because “the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost” (Romans 5:5)! As Paul declared, “I am not ashamed” even if declaring it causes me to “suffer”, “for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day” (II Timothy 1:12). And why should we be “ashamed”, hesitate even the slightest, to profess our loving faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; why, He “is not ashamed to call” us “brethren” (Hebrews 11:16). And, “God is not ashamed to be called” our “God” (Hebrews 11:16). We should always be kind and gracious to everyone and never purposefully offend anyone. But, in the course of conversation, of business, of public discourse, of education, and even of politics and government; we must never hesitate to clearly declare our faith in the Almighty God and Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God! Those who would use a “moment of silence” because they are afraid of offending someone; remember, Jesus Christ was not afraid of offending someone when He suffered Himself to be Crucified for us!
