Philippians 2:1 “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, 2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.”
Because “unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake” (Philippians 1:29); “If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies”; the Philippians and we are strongly exhorted to “be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind”! When we find a Church that is so wonderfully strong and unified in this manner and is openly loving and caring for one another and always focused upon Jesus Christ; we have found a pleasant Church to attend and be a part of. We are exhorted to be “likeminded”; that is, have the same mind to joyfully and actively “believe” on “Christ” and be willing to “suffer” for His cause and to bind ourselves together in loving unity; always “having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind”! Paul wrote that such a Church fulfilled his joy, as it is does any God-called, loving Pastor, and any who truly love the Lord!
