Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
It is “Christ Jesus” Who fortifies our “hearts and minds” with “the peace of God” to protect us from those awful things that could paralyze us with anxiety and fear and despair. He is the Son of God, and truly God Who possesses sure omnipotence and omniscience. Furthermore, He is omnipresent; thus, in every place we find ourselves, He is there. He personally knows our every situation, every trial, every trouble, and He knows everything that worries us. And, being the “Almighty God”, He has the power and authority and will to “keep” (fortify) our “hearts and minds” so that our “hearts and minds” will not become overwhelmed, causing us to wither away in misery. He is the “Christ”, the One anointed by God to come into this present world to live amongst men and “set up” His “kingdom” (Daniel 2:44) and to “save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). His very name, “Jesus”, testifies that Jehovah Is Our Salvation; for, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). Our “Christ Jesus” is also our “good shepherd”, and “the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep” (John 10:11). Also, with respect to our Eternal Home, we “are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (I Peter 1:5). While we often fail Him, He will never fail us, never forsake us, and never cast us away! Our Lord “Christ Jesus” is “worthy … to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11)!
