Philippians 4:20 “Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
In closing this Epistle, Paul verbally bows lowly before our Great “God and our Father”. He worshipfully declares that all “glory” belongs to “God and our Father”, right then, and “for ever and ever”! Although he was a mighty Servant of God, he takes no “glory” for himself, but attributes all “glory” to “God and our Father”. Paul’s many grand accomplishments and excellent Epistles would compel a carnal mind to pridefully elicit recognition and “glory” from those around them. But Paul demonstrates the Christian Standard set by our Lord when He Commanded, “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” (Luke 17:10). We will be a much more contented people if we will push aside our vain pride, and both verbally and practically declare, “Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”!
