I John 3:6 “Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.”
Those who abide in Jesus Christ are those who were “chosen in him before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 2:4), and they “sinneth not” because our Lord has taken “away our sins” (I John 3:6). In practice, “all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) and “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (I John 1:8). But, our Judicial Position before God is sinless, innocence; for, our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ paid our sin-debt in full and effectively removed our sin from us and affirmed that He had done so with these blessed words, “It is finished” (John 19:30). The removal of our sin before God is illustrated with such language as; “thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back” (Isaiah 38:17), “thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea” (Micah 7:19), and “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12). Now, we greatly rejoice, for our Lord “hath saved us” “from” our “sins” (II Timothy 1:9; Matthew 1:21)!
