I John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
The “antichrist” “that is in the world” does indeed have a lot of power to tempt us, confuse us, discourage us, and inflict pain and suffering upon us; but, we “have overcome them [the“antichrist” and his “antichrists”]: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”. The Lord “that is in” us “is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords” (I Timothy 6:15) and has the power to Create, the power to control the natural elements, the power to control our natural bodies, the power to control the affairs of men, the power to raise up and put down rulers, the power to defeat great armies, and the power to raise the dead to life again. This Blessed and Holy Lord God Almighty has equipped us with the necessary “weapons” to endure the words and deeds of the wicked and has given us “the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:16). We are not defeated by the wicked because “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (II Corinthians 10:4)! Therefore, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37). Knowing that “greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world”; let us “Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight.” (I Chronicles 19:13). When the troubles are great and things begin to look bleak, let us remember that “Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.” (I Chronicles 29:11)!
