I John 4:10 “Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”
If “God” our Heavenly Father loves us enough to send His Beloved Son to sacrificially save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21), “we ought also to love one another”. And, if “God” the Son loves us enough to come into this world and to sacrifice Himself to justify us before “God” the Father and to bear our sins away from us to make us fit for Eternal Heaven, “we ought also to love one another”. Our Lord Commands such outpouring of love this way: “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34) and “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 15:12). In this context, the word “love” means, “love” that is shown in the way we relate to one another. To love in this context is to value our Brother/Sister above ourselves, to hold them in high esteem, to show our “love” in our demeanor, to speak of our “love” in fellowship, and to demonstrate our “love” by our kindness and forgiveness. Our Lord also tells us that “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35). Therefore, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” (I John 4:7)!
