I John 5:6 “This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.”
There are certain things that “born again” (John 3:1-8) Children of God know to be true because “the Spirit that beareth witness” has indwelled us (John 14:17) and inherently gives us this Blessed Assurance that these things are true. We “know … that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit” (I John 4:13). And, “we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us” (I John 3:24). And, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” (Romans 8:16); “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” (Galatians 4:6). Furthermore, because the “Spirit” Of our God “abideth in us”, “we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one” (I Corinthians 8:4), “we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens” (II Corinthians 5:1), “we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (I John 3:2), “we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness” (I John 5:19), “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.” (I John 5:20). Because the “Spirit” Of our God “abideth in us” to assure us and comfort us, we can face the tribulations of this present world in peace; for, we are constantly looking forward to that Better World where there are no tribulations!
