Psalms 30:4 “Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.”
The Lord God Almighty has blessed us with such an enormous magnitude of grand blessings that if we spent every moment and every breath of our life praising Him and declaring our Thanks to Him, we could not match His Grace to us. But, along with our daily prayers, it is good to dedicate a Day to offer up our sincere thanks to our merciful and gracious God. The people of our Nation are not perfect, but our Perfect God has abundantly blessed us with peace, bountiful provisions, magnificent comforts, and freedom to live and worship. It seems that we are much like Israel of Old, they had taken the Lord’s blessings for granted and were turning away from God; yet He told them, “For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” (Malachi 3:6). That is, for His own purposes and glory, He had graciously chosen to preserve them and keep them from a just destruction. As our Lord told us, we do indeed have tribulations in this present life, but He has overcome the source and cause of our tribulations! We should daily devote much time to “Sing-ing unto the LORD … and giv-ing thanks at the remembrance of his holiness”! So, along with our daily prayers, let us this day dedicate ourselves to Giving Thanks to our Almighty God, Who hath so wonderfully blessed us. And let us never forget: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.” (Psalms 33:12).
