Isaiah 57:20 “But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. 21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”
While the Lord will eventually “heal” and give “peace” (Isaiah 57:18-19) to His Children, “the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest”. As the “waters” of the raging “troubled sea” will “cast up mire and dirt”; so will “the wicked”. The “wicked” seem to thrive on trouble, meanness, deceit, selfishness, and immorality. And like the “troubled sea”, “the wicked” are a grave danger to all who are near them, and in their path is “mire and dirt”; that is, mayhem, destruction, pain, hatefulness, and suffering. “There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.”; that is, “when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn” (Proverbs 29:2); for, “the wicked” bring the exact opposite of “peace”; that is, they produce nothing but troubles. But, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” (Proverbs 29:2). Let us pray for “righteous” leaders that are motivated and guided by and submissive to the will, power, and love of God!
