Hebrews 13:7 “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.”
Faithful Pastors/Elders are those “who have spoken unto you the word of God”, not their own ideas or philosophies. The Sovereign “God” has delivered His “word” to us through “holy men of God” who “spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost”. And, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.” (II Samuel 22:31) and “the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth” (Psalm 33:4). Paul told the Ephesians that “the word of his grace … is able to build you up” (Acts 20:32). The Lord’s faithful Pastors/Elders “preach the word” (II Timothy 4:2) “of his grace” at all times, in all occasions, and under all circumstances without misrepresentation, without addition, without exclusion, and without fear, for only in the true “word of his grace” do we find peace, joy, and hope. The “word of his grace” does not make people Children of God, it does not give them spiritual life, it does not save them from eternal hell, and neither does it save them to Eternal Heaven; but, it does mightily move in the hearts and minds of those who are born again Children of God, and it empowers them with such a mighty courage that they are often heard confidently saying, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)!
