John 10:27 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
Our beloved Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Savior calls His people, “My sheep”. Paul plainly tells us that we belong to the Lord: “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (I Corinthians 16:19-20). Paul makes it clear that our Lord, our “Good Shepherd”, owns us; for, He “bought” us with the price of His Sacrificial Blood and His Very Life. He “bought” us out of bondage to sin; thus, liberating us to worship and serve Him. God the Father “hath chosen us in him [Jesus Christ] before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4). Peter refers to His “sheep” as the “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ …” (I Peter 1:2). Our Lord tells us that it is not possible for Him to lose even one of His “sheep” (John 6:37-39). Paul tells us that His “sheep” were perfectly “justified” by our Lord’s Sacrificial “blood”: “being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him” (John 5:9). Furthermore, with respect to our Eternal Judgment, the Lord’s “sheep” cannot possibly be charged with sin because “It is God that justifieth” (Romans 8:23). Therefore, the Lord’s Beloved “sheep” cannot be Eternally Condemned; for, “It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us” (Romans 8:34). Furthermore, there is absolutely nothing that “shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35-39)! Knowing this blessed truth, let us join the cry, “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.” (Psalm 95:1)!
