John 10:29 “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
The Lord’s “sheep” are peacefully comforted knowing that the Heavenly “Father … is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of” His “hand”. Considering the context, our Lord is emphasizing that our Heavenly “Father … is greater than all” who would seek to “pluck” His “sheep” out of His hand. The “sheep”-thieves are the same as the “many antichrists” (I John 2:18). These “sheep”-thieves hate God, hate the Word of God, hate the Church of God, and hate the “sheep” of God; and, will do everything in their power to destroy all the Good Things of our Lord. While their power allows them to do considerable damage, our Heavenly “Father … is greater than all”; thus, His “sheep” are Eternally safe and secure in His Almighty “hand”. These “sheep”-thieves can entice the “sheep” away for a time, but He that “is greater than all” will “leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it” (Luke 15:4). Our God declared His Greatness this way: “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. 12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. 13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?” (Isaiah 43:11-13). We have every reason to “rejoice with joy unspeakable” (I Peter 1:8); for, “no man is able to pluck” Our Lord’s “sheep” “out of” His “Father’s hand”!
