Isaiah 53:10 “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.”
The “LORD” God Almighty “shall prolong” our Lord Jesus Christ’s “days”; that is, the Eternal “days” of His Life. And because His “days” are prolonged forever, so also shall be the Eternal “days” of His reigning power and authority, the Eternal “days” of His Kingdom, and the Eternal “days” of “his seed. We greatly rejoice “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.” (Romans 6:9). While other rulers come and go, our King, Lord Jesus Christ “shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 11:15); that is, “he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Luke 1:33). The Psalmist prophesied, “His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.” (Psalms 89:29) and “His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.” (Psalms 89:36). Daniel prophesied that “in the days of” the Roman “kings” “shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever” (Daniel 2:44). Furthermore, because He is Eternal, the “LORD” declared that “His seed shall endure for ever”; and, “His seed” (His People) “shall reign for ever and ever” with Him (Revelation 22:5). That is, by His Sovereign will and power we “shall reign for ever and ever” over sin, death, and the grave. When our Lord was answering a question about “heaven”; He said concerning His people, “Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.” (Luke 20:36). This present life is often filled with pain and sorrow, but we worshipfully rejoice knowing that our “redeemer liveth” and that He “reigneth” and Shepherds (John 10) our lives and us; and, when that Eternal Day comes, in our “flesh shall” we “see God: 27 Whom” we “shall see for” ourself, “and” our “eyes shall behold,” Him “and not another” (Job 19:26-27). No matter how good and pleasant our life might be, there is an infinitely better day coming. And, if our life is plagued with sorrow and pain, in the morning of that Eternal day it shall be overcome by our Lord’s Victory and we all “shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (I Thessalonians 4:17) where we shall forever joyfully gaze upon the Glorious “Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29). In this life, we must never forget that He is the reigning “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:16)!
