Micah 4:2 “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
And, “in the last days it shall come to pass” that “many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD”. Literally, “many people” (Isaiah 2:3) in many different “nations” shall “say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD”. The message is that, in the various “nations” there are so many faithful Children of God that are worshipfully obedient unto “the LORD” that the multitude of them affects the laws and operations of the government in their “nations”. In our Country, we are so highly blessed that the faithful Children of God can choose leaders that will make and enforce laws that are consistent with Biblical morality and integrity. They can do that, for the laws of our land rise from our Constitution which was written to be consistent with Biblical teachings for morality and integrity. There has always been a great struggle between those who do not want a land governed by morality and integrity and those who diligently pursue it. Those who want to be free from morality and integrity are those who want a centralized government that can force their own whimsical will upon the people; these seek glory and power and authority and wealth at the expense of the people. But, the faithful Children of God simply desire the freedom to live and prosper in life and to freely go up “to the house of the God of Jacob” to worship the Lord; that is, to the Church of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, the government must not involve itself with the Churches’ doctrines and practices. The Lord will sort out doctrinal truth among the various Church orders by calling ministers to clearly and consistently “preach the word” (II Timothy 4:2) “of truth” (Ephesians 1:13; II Timothy 2:15). The result of consistently preaching and teaching and sounding out (I Thessalonians 1:8) “the word of truth” is that it often brings brotherly examination between believers and unbelievers, for some believe that godly behavior is the requisite for Eternal Salvation; others believe that godly behavior is the result of being a Child of God that is “born of the Spirit” (John 3:1-8). Ultimately, godly behavior yields orderly and peaceful lives for all, both believers and unbelievers.
