2024-11-15 “for the law shall go forth of Zion”

Micah 4:2  “And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

The Life and Sacrifice of our Beloved Lord Jesus Christ was not just some local phenomenon, His “law” and “word” (the Gospel Message) was quickly and powerfully spread to His people (Jews and Gentiles) among the many nations of the world.  Just before our Lord’s departure (Acts 1), He Commanded His Apostles to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20) and “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) and “that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” (Luke 224:47) and “ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).  When the Jewish leaders rejected Jesus Christ and His Gospel, “Then Paul and Barnabas waxed bold, and said, It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing ye put it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, lo, we turn to the Gentiles.  47  For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.” (Acts 13:46-47).  And, even down this very day, wherever the blessed Gospel of our Savior is Preached “not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (I Corinthians 2:4), it wonderfully resonates with the Spirit that our Lord puts into the hearts of His people, and there is great rejoicing!
