2025-01-22 “the snow from heaven”

Isaiah 55:10   “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

A farmer in the northern plains once told me that the snow is the poor-farmer’s fertilize.  He went on to explain that it adds large amounts of nitrogen to the soil to feed his crops and his crops always do better when there is a lot of snow in the winter.  They consider it a gift from the Lord.  It appears that Isaiah knew that “snow” is beneficial to the crops; for, he uses it to illustrate the blessed prosperity that the Lord sends to His people.  When the Lord snows his abundant Grace upon His people it is like the snow that “watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater”.  Yesterday through last night (January 21, 2025) the snow fall in the Florida Panhandle exceeded all records.  Therefore, let us be of good courage; for the Lord declared, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  12  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.  13  Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” (Isaiah 55:11-13).  Let us look forward to the Word of God producing abundant fruit!
