Romans 10:15 “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”
Quoting Isaiah 52:7, Paul emphasizes the joy of “the gospel of peace” by declaring, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”. When a Minister of the Gospel arrives, there is great joy, not so much because of the person of the Minister, but because of the Message he brings with him. Some Ministers of the Gospel do not have pleasant bodily features. Some are otherwise uneducated and unskilled in public speaking. However, when these men begin to speak of the blessedness of our Lord, of the glorious message of “Salvation By Grace”, of the promises of “eternal life”, of the “great love” that our Lord has for us, and of His awful “sacrifice” for us, beauty emanates from these men because the beauty of the Gospel Message dwarfs their natural appearance. The Ministers’ “feet” are referred to as “beautiful” because he is arriving with the God-given “gospel of peace”. This “gospel” contains “glad tidings of good things” to the hearts of poor sinners who can find no other comfort in this life.
