Psalms 95:1 “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”
David also proclaimed concerning “the rock of our salvation”, “I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” (II Samuel 22:4)! As our “rock”, “stone” He is “worthy to be praised”; because, when all else and everyone else is failing and shifting and moving with the storms of life, our “rock” is always there, steady and unmovable. When our stormy troubles threaten to overwhelm us, He provides us the security of His Cleft in “the rock”. When we feel all alone and oh so lonely, our “rock” is near by to Comfort us. When we hunger and thirst after righteousness, He sends Spiritual Water to nourish us from “the rock”. When we examine ourselves and deem ourselves unworthy of our Lord and His promises of Eternal Heaven, His promises rests sure and steadfast in “the rock of our salvation” as He so tenderly reminds us that nothing can separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35-39). As we come together to worship “the rock of our salvation”, we “sing” of His Glory and “make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation”; that is, we lift up our voices in singing of Him and in shouts of His glory and majesty and victories! Indeed, He “is worthy to be praised”!
