2025-05-21 “In his hand are the deep places of the earth”

Psalms 95:3  “For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  4  In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.  5  The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

Another reason why we must “come before his presence with thanksgiving”; the Psalmist tells us that, “In his hand are the deep places of the earth”.  Man drills very “deep” to pump out petroleum and digs deep mines to get coal, gold, silver, etc.  But, all the resources and wealth hidden in “the deep places of the earth” are in our LORD’s “hand”; that is, He owns it and is in control of it.  Furthermore, there are deep places that man simply cannot descend to, there are secrets beyond man’s reach; though hidden to men; they are in the LORD’s “hand”; He Created them, knows all about them, and is in control of them.  Although the “deep places” are beyond our reach; we rejoice to know that “Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.” (Psalms 135:6).  Such an Almighty God “is worthy to be praised” (II Samuel 22:4) and He is “worthy” of whatever effort it takes for us to meet together to worship with His Church.
