Psalms 95:3 “For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. 5 The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.”
Our Creator, with His Almighty “hands”, He “formed the dry land”! Somewhat as a potter forms his clay vessels, our “LORD” “formed the dry land” above the “sea”. He raised “the dry land” above the “sea” and He “formed” it to make inhabitable regions for mankind and His other air-breathing creatures. He “formed” it to bring forth abundant vegetation to nourish His creatures. He “formed” the hills and the valleys and the dry deserts and the fertile rainforests and both the warm and cold regions. So Great is our Almighty “LORD” that, even in Heaven, they are singing “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” (Revelation 4:11). Let us daily take notice that the very soil we stand upon, was “formed” by our LORD’s own “hand”. We make or form things that last for a while, then they are gone. But, not only did our “LORD” create the earth and “form” it to His liking, but He also sustains it by His Almighty Power. We are told that, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22). Truly, our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY is “worthy … to receive glory and honour and power”; that is, we are obligated to daily revere Him in worshipful praise, prayer, and obedience!
