2020-07-03 “The city of confusion is broken down”

Isaiah 24:10  “The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

The city of confusion” refers to a “city” that is in chaos, a “city” without a moral code or direction, a “city” guided by greed and personal gratification, a “city” intoxicated with carnal lusts, and a “city” that has turned away from God.  Without God’s deliverance, “The city of confusion” will eventually destroy itself, it will be “broken down”.  Now is the time for the Children of God, including those among our leaders, to “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.” (I Corinthians 16:13) and to “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:11-13).  We have a formidable enemy; therefore, we must earnestly pray for strength to be faithful to the Lord, we must “be strong” in the Lord, we must “Watch”, we must “stand fast in the faith”, we must be strong and behave ourselves “like men” (not whimpering cowards), we must “stand against the wiles (tricks and devices) of the devil”, and we must prayerfully condition ourselves in the Word of God so that we will “be able to withstand (endure) in the evil day”!  For Two Hundred Forty Four years our God has blessed and preserved our Nation; He has picked us up when we have fallen, He has forgiven our sins and bad judgments, He has defended us against all of our enemies, and He has blessed us more than any other nation in the history of this world.  But, like when Israel repeatedly, without repentance, rejected God and godliness; there came a day in which it was declared, “An end is come, the end is come: it watcheth for thee; behold, it is come.” (Ezekiel 7:6).  Therefore, may the  Lord our merciful God send the spirit of prayer and repentance upon our Nation and let our banner cry be, “Behold the Lamb of God” (John 1:29,36) – let the sound of it fill our Nation, let us “Quench not the Spirit” (I Thessalonians 5:19)!
