Romans 16:20 “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”
Our greatest adversary cyclically rears up to trouble the Children of God and the Church of Jesus Christ. But, “after that ye have suffered a while” (I Peter 5:10) “the God of peace” always reveals Himself as our Almighty Savior. The ultimate source of our trouble is the devil and his “many antichrists” (I John 2:18). The “antichrists” oppose Jesus Christ, His Church, His Word, His People, and all righteousness. If a thing is bad or immoral, they support and promote it. In these times of trouble, our “peace” is greatly disturbed, and the dark clouds of despair and discouragement are beginning to form on the horizon. But, as the troubles rage about us, let us pray with the Psalmist “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.” (Psalms 57:1) and hear the Lord’s encouragement, “Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.” (Isaiah 26:20)! For, it is certain that “the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly”! Then, when our present “calamities be overpast”, let us not forget to come together with a great Feast Of Thanksgiving!
