Psalm 5:8 “Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.”
It seems that our Country is boiling over with those who hate the “righteousness” of God; that is, they hate what God has declared to be right! In just such times as these, the Psalmist prayed, “Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.”! To avoid confusion, despair, weariness, and discouragement; let us likewise pray that our “LORD” will “Lead” us in His “righteousness” and make His “way straight before” our “face”. The “enemies” of God’s “righteousness” hate the Word of God and hate those who profess it so much that they seek to remove the Word of God from public view and what they cannot remove, they distort. Nineteen years ago, today, our “enemies”, motivated by the very essence of evil itself, viciously attacked our Country. Now, this evil is attacking our Country from within, creating mass confusion and despair. This grotesque evil is attacking on several fronts all at the same time. So, what do we do?! Well, we start by praying “Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.”! And, we “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:11-13)! Right now is the time for us to pray and “Put on the whole armour of God” so that we can “stand against the wiles of the devil”; that is, not give up, but hold our Spiritual ground, even in the very face of the devil’s many evil acts and tricks. And, let us pray and “Put on the whole armour of God” so that we can “withstand in the evil day”; that is, endure whatever the devil, our “enemies”, throw at us. And, let us pray and “Put on the whole armour of God” so that we can firmly “stand” without compromise in the Blessed and Holy Word of God! So today, let us pray that our merciful and gracious Lord will make us to clearly understand what He has declared to be “right” and that He will give us the wisdom and strength to endure and remain faithful to Him, His Word, and His Church! Let us hear and meditate upon Nehemiah’s exhortation, “Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” (Nehemiah 4:14)!
