Matthew 25:21 “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
In the Parable of the Talents, the Lord said to the two men who were “good and faithful” servants to Him, “enter thou into the joy of thy lord”! They would have “the joy of thy lord” as they moved on to even greater heights of service; for, He would “make” them “ruler over many things”. They had proven their faith and their loving commitment to their Lord. Inherently, these men loved their Lord, and to them, it was a great “joy” to give their time, their energy, and their skill into service to their Lord. There is no “joy” in this present world greater than that we receive when our Spiritual Ears hear our Lord say to us, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”! It is even a “joy” to be counted worthy to endure natural disadvantages and troubles and tribulations in serving the Lord. To have “the joy of thy lord” is to feel His Holy Presence with us as He strengthens us and equips us for His service. To have “the joy of thy lord” is to prayerfully sing “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?” (Psalms 116:12)! To have “the joy of thy lord” is to hear our beloved Savior say, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)! To have “the joy of thy lord” is to hear our Lord say to us, “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3). To have “the joy of thy lord” is to hear Him say, “I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:3). To have “the joy of thy lord” is to know that He “hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began” (II Timothy 1:9). To have “the joy of thy lord” is to know that one blessed and holy day, “in my flesh shall I see God” (Job 19:26)! To receive “the joy of thy lord”, is to get a little taste of Heaven while we live in service to Him!
