Isaiah 2:3 “And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”
Throughout the Bible, faithful obedience to the Lord, in doctrine and practice, is often spoken of as “his ways” and “his paths”. His “ways” are the Highways that He has specified in His Holy Word. There is a “broad … way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat” (Matthew 7:13). It is so, even in our day, when the Children of God get slothful and complacent in following the Lord’s “ways”, they tend to drift off onto the “broad … way”; that is, the “way” that seems easy and carnally pleasant. But, these “broad”-easy ways indeed lead to “destruction”. When the Children of God drift off the Lord’s “ways”, they open the door for the wicked who are “not” the Lord’s “sheep” (John 10:26), who don’t know “the Father” (John 16:3), and who are the “antichrists” (I John 2:18); these wicked people leave nothing but “destruction” in their paths! Just look at what is happening in our Country right now; confusion, deceit, greed, hatred, violence, gross immorality, etc. are trying to rip our Country apart. When we miss a turn and get lost, we pick up our map, figure out where we are and set a course to get back on the right “way”, “path”. So, right now is the time for “born again” (John 3:1-8) Children of God to pick up the Word of God (Psalms 119:105) and prayerfully see where we are and then seek to return unto the Lords “ways”, “paths”! Great “destruction” lies ahead if we do not!
