2020-10-19 “we use great plainness of speech”

II Corinthians 3:12  “Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

Now is the time for “great plainness of speech”.  Moses “put a vail over his face” to keep hid the full majesty and glory of God so that they could not understand the full reason for the Law and the ultimate fulfillment of the Law; that is, the purpose of the coming Messiah.  And, “until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away” (II Corinthians 3:13-14).  Yet, we must “use great plainness of speech” (not veiled or hidden) as we preach the “doctrine of Christ” (II John 1:9) and “declare … all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27).  However, some who are yet blocked by the vail, will “stop… their ears” (Acts 7:57); nevertheless, we continue to “use great plainness of speech”.  So, why did Jesus come into this world?  He came to “save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).  Did He do what He came to do?  Yes, just before He gave His life, He declared “It is finished” (John 19:30); in the singular act of His sacrificial death, He saved all “his people from their sins”.  Is it possible for even one of “his people” to not be saved to Heaven?  No, for our Lord plainly declared, “this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day” (John 6:39).  When did the Father give Him His people?  Paul answers, “before the foundation of the world” (Ephesians 1:4).  What is our duty as we live out our lives?  The Lord tells us, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15).  Now is the time for “great plainness of speech”, all glory must be given to the Lord, not man!
