Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”
The “LORD” our “God, he is God, the faithful God”! Everything He has ever promised has come to pass, is coming to pass, or will surely come to pass. He demonstrated His faithfulness in bringing Israel out of Egypt, preserving them for forty years in the wilderness, and in delivering them into Canaan, the Promised Land. He never deserted them, even when they turned away from Him to toy with the Canaanite idols. He made sure that they had all the provisions necessary to sustain and prosper them. He protected them from their enemies. He often chastened them, but ultimately continued to bless them in spite of their sinful behavior. He was and is the perfect Father to them. This same “faithful God” is our “God” today, and He has not changed, He is still “faithful” to His Word. With all the storms, plagues, corruptions, chaos, and hatefulness that we have endured these past few years, some may ask, “Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?” (Psalms 77:8)! The emphatic answer is, NO, for He is “the God that doest wonders” and He “hast declared” His “strength among the people” (Psalm 77:14) and He is “the LORD” Who “shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not” (Isaiah 58:11). So, let us just “be still” (Psalms 46:10) for little while and see what great things our “faithful God” is going to do. Right now, let all “born again” (John 3:1-8) Children of God, both inwardly and outwardly, clearly and loudly proclaim “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” (Psalms 18:3)! “And let us arise, and go up to Bethel” (Genesis 35:3); that is, “go up to” the blessed House Of God. Let us “go up” to worship and adore the Blessed and Holy Lord our God! Let us “go up” to pray! Let us “go up” to sing! Let us “go up” to preach! Let us “go up” to fellowship! Let us “go up” to show our love toward our God! Let us “go up”, for He is Worthy, “the faithful God”!
