Romans 13:11 “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.”
It seems that Christianity has sailed straight into the “Euroclydon” Storm (Acts 27:14). Right now, is the time for all God-Fearing Children of God “to awake out of sleep”! This is no time for spiritual lethargy and half-hearted Christianity. Now is not the time for pity parties and cries of Woe Is Me! This is the time for every one of us to start out in sincere prayer on our knees and then stand up straight and tall as a faithful and “good soldier of Jesus Christ” (II Timothy 2:3). And, now is the time to be like Saul of Tarsus, who “trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6). And, now is the time to sing and cry aloud, “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?” (Psalms 116:12)! And, now is the time to “Put on the whole armour of God” (Ephesians 6:11; 6:13) and diligently learn how to use it! And, now is the time to fill our meeting house every Lord’s Day, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)! And, now is the time for Preachers to “preach the word” (II Timothy 4:2), not human philosophy. Now is the time to do all these things, never taking our spiritual-eyes off the Lord, Who is our “salvation” (Hebrews 12:2); and never forgetting that, with our Lord, victory is certain!
