Psalm 57:6 “They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.”
These are words of praise to the Lord Who oversees and providentially protects and provides for His Children while their adversaries are behaving as the heathen, who are raging and imagining vain things (Psalms 2:1; Acts 4:25). It is true that the enemies of God’s faithful Children prepare all kinds of traps and snares and hindrances to discourage and ruin the Lord’s Church, His Holy Word, and His People; and they even try to draw them away from their “walk before God” (Psalms 56:13). These nets and pits are often so troubling that our “soul is bowed down” in despair and discouragement because of them. Yet, the good news is that our Almighty God providentially leads our adversaries to fall into their own nets and pits; thus, our Lord gets the Victory ever time!
