Psalms 119:10 “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.”
It is dangerous to assume that we have such strength and faith and commitment that we cannot “wander from” our Lord’s “commandments”; for, even a man like king David did “wander from” the Lord’s “commandments” to satisfy his own carnal desires and will! The devil knows that while we do love and seek the Lord with our “whole heart”, we do have human weaknesses and can be drawn away into error. This is why the Lord told Peter, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not:” (Luke 22:31-32). Knowing this, let us daily pray, “O let me not wander from thy commandments” and let us avoid distractions by spending our time “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)!
