Psalm 147:3  “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

There are many things that can break the “heart” of God’s Children.  To be “broken in heart” is to experience sad and awful things that pains the Spiritual Heart that God gives His Children (Jeremiah 24:7; 32:39).  Such things as unfaithful companions will break their hearts, rebellious children will break their hearts, life threatening diseases in themselves and their loved ones will break their hearts, death of their loved ones will break their hearts, members falling away from their Church will break their hearts, corruption in their Country will break their hearts, disappointment in themselves and others will break their hearts, and their own sin will break their hearts.  Yet, these faithful Children of God draw upon their God-given faith (Hebrews 12:2) and get up and dust themselves off and keep on serving and obeying their Lord; for, “He healeth the broken in heart”, He sends the Holy Spirit, the Comforter (John 14:16) to embrace and console them!  Often times the Holy Spirit moves in the hearts of other brethren and sisters to rush to their side to console and encourage those who are “broken in heart”.  Sometimes, “He” gives His ministers just the right message to console and encourage those who are “broken in heart”.  Sometimes, just the very sight of the Lord’s Children gathering to worship consoles and encourages those who are “broken in heart”.  And, sometimes the Holy Spirit comes upon us and fills us with the joy and contentment of His Comforting presence with us, so healing those who are “broken in heart”.
