Hebrews 6:20 “Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Savior is our King. In the purest sense, the King has absolute, full, and final authority and power over all things in His Realm. The King’s subjects are subject to His power and authority in every respect of life, they even own property as He grants them liberty to do so. The perfect King watches over and protects His subjects, provides for the welfare of His subjects, provides for the peace of His subjects, judicially chastens and corrects His subjects, and possesses and displaces perfect love for His subjects. His rule is absolute, for He possesses all legislative authority, all judicial authority, and all executive authority in His realm. So complete is His Kingship that “he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Daniel 4:35)! Compared to Him, “all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing” (Daniel 4:35); furthermore, it is the duty of His subjects to “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” (Ecclesiastes 12:13). Our King is perfect in every way, “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.” (Deuteronomy 32:4) and “the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth” (Psalms 33:4) and “all his commandments are sure” (Psalms 111:7)! So, lets rejoice and sing this Psalm and mean it, “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. … O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.” (Psalms 95:1,6)!
